Keneally first played his music with Finnish multi-instrumentalist Jaan Wessman and German drummer/percussionist Schroeder in 2002, and they toured for several years as Mike Keneally & Friends. They had an instant musical rapport from the moment they began playing together, with a shared devotion to musical adventure and high spirits onstage. Wessman and Schroeder bring incredible musicality and daring to Keneally’s music, and the three share an irresistible camaraderie in concert.
After too many years during which other gigs kept them apart, they began gigging more frequently again starting in 2016, at which time the trio changed their name to The Mike Keneally Report, and were one of the headlining acts at the Zappanale festival in Bad Doberan in 2022. Their most recent shows, in Finland in October 2024, were rapturously well-received.
